9 Nov - SR Serasa celebrates Maulidur Rasul with Maulud march

About 270 staffs and pupils from SR Serasa begin the Maulidur Rasul celebration with marching along the streets of Kampong Serasa. The distance of the march was about 4 km. The guest of honour was Dato Seri Setia Haji Kassim bin Haji Lamat who was also leading the Maulud march with the school's headmaster, Haji Hamidun bin Haji Hassan. The road was cleared by the Muara police force.
After the march, the pupils were singing the Nasyid choir in the hall and talk about Maulidur Rasul by the guest of honour, Dato Seri Setia Haji Kassim bin Haji Lamat. The event ends with Dikir Marhaban.

Serasa Primary School held a three-day orientation for the preschoolers for next year, recently.

The event began with a speech delivered by the School Headmaster, Awg Hj Hamidun bin Haji Hassan, who later officiated the Preschool Orientation. A briefing from the School's Academic Officer and from two preschool teachers followed after.

The main objective of the orientation was to reduce the crying zone when the students will start their schooling next year. Many activities will be given during the orientation such as games and colouring to make the students keen on going to school.

Brunei's annual Under-13 cricket tournament took place at Ong Sung Ping Ground on Sunday with five teams in the fray - Sekolah Rendah Sg Tali, St Georges Mix, Sekolah Rendah Jerudong, Sekolah Rendah NAR Menunggol and Sekolah Rendah Serasa.

Teachers had done the basic coaching course just a few months back by the Development Manager Haji Rusdi. They all gave their best even though they had no exposure to the game before this.

Most of them were from Primary 3-6. Up to 70 students and around six teachers took part in this event. Splendid talent was seen and they will be called for training with the Brunei Under 15. More regular trips will be made to these schools starting November to polish these kids up

All the teams played each other. Whenever two teams were battling each other out on the ground, the remaining youngsters of the three teams went to the practice nets and had a great time and were being coached by three of Brunei U21 players - Matin, Shavez and Mujahid.

On the matches, coach Aleem Mushtaq said: 'It was a complete cricket scenario, that how we can discover new talent and then polish it."

Development Manager Hj Rusdi's view about Sunday was 'I love to see them enjoying the game. They have picked up the game very fast, and I believe they can be a good player if we give them full support and teach them the right basic techniques.'

At the end of the day, St Georges Mix emerged victorious when they defeated Sek Ren Serasa in an intense and to the last ball final match. Aji of Sek Rendah Serasa was determined to carry his team to victory to the last ball with some good batting.

Hj Mosli bin Haji Mohammad, the President of Brunei's Cricket Association presented the medals and trophies to all the players. The Man of the Match of the final match was Kamil Johari from Sek Rendah Serasa.

The Cricket Association also provided each player with free team shirts and caps as well as refreshment and lunch.

Semenjak SPN 21 bermula banyak sekali perubahan dibuat dalam sistem pendidikan negara, termasuklah kaedah-kaedah pengajaran juga banyak diubahsuai bagi membantu dan mempercepatkan peningkatan dalam pendidikan. Salah satu perubahan adalah kaedah membaca menggunakan kaedah bacaan fonetik bagi menggantikan kaedah membaca secara suku kata. Sehubungan dengan itu pihak sekolah memilih kaedah ini sebagai tajuk program outreach sekolah kami. Tujuannya adalah untuk memberikan pendedahan kepada ibubapa tentang kaedah fonetik sebagai kesinambungan terhadap pengajaran di sekolah agar ibubapa sekurang-kurangnya dapat memata-matai kefahaman anak-anak mereka. Demi untuk kemajuan anak-anak mereka dan peningkatan Akedemik sekolah.

Serasa Primary School recently held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the school hall.

The event began with a speech by Principal Awg Hj Hamidun bin Haji Hassan.The students also held various performances, such as singing, dancing and a fashion show. The schools' artistes Nur Atikah Nabillah and Shafiqah also performed songs of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Food and drinks brought by the pupils such as cakes and chocolates were served to every pupils in the school.

The celebration ended with a prize giving ceremony to the best dressed pupils.

June 02 - English Month Closing Ceremony

Serasa Primary school held the closing ceremony of the English Month at the school’s hall.

The pupils’ interest in learning English was boosted the whole month of May by activities outside the classroom such as Morning Quiz, School Radio, Singing and Drama.

During the closing ceremony, games for the pupils, teachers and non-teaching staff were conducted. Among the activities are spelling, creating words, puzzles, scrambling letters, singing, drama & poetry.

Prizes to the winners of the activities were presented by Cikgu Nazrah bin Haji Samad, Deputy Headmistress of Serasa Primary School.

May 25 - Singapore students study visits ends with traditional foods & performances

Chongfu Primary school from Singapore two days study visits to Serasa Primary school ends with demonstration of making ketupat and cooking traditional food such as Kueh Cacah, Kelupis and Ambuyat. During the closing ceremony, the students from both schools perform their traditional dance and songs.

Some 22 students accompanied by three teachers from the Chongfu Primary School from Singapore arrived at Brunei International Airport yesterday. Welcoming the visitors upon their arrival was the Serasa Primary School’s Headmaster, Cikgu Haji Hamidun bin Haji Hassan, and the school’s assistant headmaster. The visitors will have two days study visit to Serasa Primary School at Muara regarding Bahasa Melayu and traditional food and games of Brunei people.

SR Serasa juga meraih Juara Kumpulan Perempuan dan Juara Perbarisan Lalu.

Rizauddin Sukarmie dari SR OKBI Subok meraih Piala Olahragawan selepas mendapat 2 pingat emas dan 1 pingat gangsa dalam acara 1500m, 800m dan 4x400m. Farah Filzah peserta dari SR Serasa meraih Piala Olahragawati selepas mendapat 3 pingat emas dalam acara 100m, 200m dan 4x100m.

Haji Nasir bin Haji Matali,Penyelia Kanan Daerah Brunei II & IV, adalah tetamu kehormat yang menyampaikan piala-piala kejohanan.

The event began with a speech delivered by the School Headmaster, Awg Hj Hamidun bin Haji Hassan. This was followed by a talk about Israk Mikraj delivered by Ustazah Dk Norhayati binti Pg Hj Kasharan from the Islamic Dakwah Centre.

The students also held various performances, such as reciting the al-Quran, Azan, Nasyid and Drama.

Khamis 10 September - Derma-derma bagi Anak-anak Yatim di negara ini terus dihulurkan oleh agensi-agensi kerajaan, swasta dan orang perseorangan.

Sekolah Rendah Serasa, tidak ketinggalan mengadakan majlis penyerahan derma kepada anak-anak yatim yang belajar di sekolah tersebut yang berlangsung di dewan sekolah berkenaan.

Dalam majlis penyerahan derma, Guru Besar Sekolah berkenaan, Awang Haji Hamidun bin Haji Hassan berkata bahawa derma tersebut hasil kutipan dari guru-guru dan kakitangan sekolah berkenaan.

Ketika ditemui Guru Besar menambah, dengan adanya majlis ini berharap agar derma yang dihulurkan akan meringankan beban pelajar lebih-lebih lagi semasa hari raya akan menjelang ini.

Sebelum majlis penyampaian derma, semua warga sekolah berkenaan mengadakan majlis bertahlil dan membaca yassin bagi menyemarakkan bulan yang mulia ini.

Armed with electronic thermometers, masked teachers nationwide yesterday waited at the gates of schools to check the body temperatures of the arriving students as they made their way back following the extended mid-year break.

Meanwhile, pupils showing H1N1 symptoms such as fever and cough, will be told to head to the nearest hospital for further inspection.

For the most part, classes were back to normal. However, now, more so than ever, greater emphasis is being placed on cleanliness to prevent the spread of H1N1.

Masks were handed out to students for their added protection, however, some of them had already come prepared.

Ahli Kumpulan Tunas Mekar (KTM) dari Sekolah Rendah Serasa telah membuat lawatan ke Pusat Al-Islah, Muara, sebagai salah satu aktiviti untuk membina kesihatan mental dan menjauhi gejala dadah bagi murid-murid tersebut.

Acara lawatan dimulakan dengan taklimat tentang Pusat Al-Islah oleh pegawai Pusat tersebut dan kemudian dibawa membuat lawatan di dalam kawasan. Ahli-hli kumpulan tersebut dibawa melawat ke tempat pertanian dan bengkel-bengkel di dalam Pusat Al-Islah dan diterangkan. Acara lawatan diakhiri dengan bergambar ramai.
